The Premier Research Institute of Science and Mathematics (PRISM) is a research institute of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) which generates principles, protocols and products that provide dynamic and innovative solutions to societal problems. It was established on December 18, 2015 by virtue of MSU BOR No. 240, Series of 2015. PRISM currently implements internally- and externally-funded researches along nine research themes namely, Applied Mathematics and Statistics, Biodiversity, Biotechnology, Climate Change, Complex Systems, Nanoscience, Natural Products and Drug Development, Renewable Energy and Theoretical Science.

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension (OVCRE) of the Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT), is the unit tasked to stimulate, assist, fund, manage, coordinate, evaluate research projects, and the publication of research outputs of the academic and non-academic personnel of the Institute. Its other activities also include initiating research-based extension projects and establishing linkages with research funding institutions and support agencies/organization.

The Samahang Pisika ng Visayas at Mindanao (SPVM) is an independent group of physics teachers, researchers and students in the South. It is a scientific community bound by a common desire to advance physics in all fields and to make physics education and research a potent tool for development in the southern Philippines. Founded in 1995, it is based at Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT).

The Mathematical Society of the Philippines (MSP) is the Philippines' premiere professional organization dedicated to the promotion of mathematics research and education in the country. Founded in 1973, it has grown from a small Manila-based group of math educators to a nation-wide network of individuals, with chapters in the three island groups of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
