It is with joy and excitement that Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) awaits all the participants to the ICSM 2019: 1st International Conference in Science and Mathematics hosted by its Premier Research Institute of Science and Mathematics.

This conference is in cooperation with the MSU-IIT’s Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension, the Samahang Pisika ng Visayas at Mindanao, and the Mathematical Society of the Philippines of Regions X, XII, and ARMM.

The Institute is proud to be able to provide Science and Mathematics academicians and researchers from all over the world a venue for intellectual discussion of issues and new paradigms concerning the conference theme: Sustaining Science and Mathematics Research and Innovation.

MSU-IIT hopes that through the ICSM 2019, educators and researchers can discuss and share ideas in improving science and mathematics education, and that it can empower research studies for national and global competitiveness.

May this conference be an occasion for participants to forge friendships and create a community of productive researchers and educators committed to advance teaching and research.

In behalf of the Organizing Committee, it is my pleasure and privilege to invite you to ICSM 2019: The 1st International Conference in Science and Mathematics which will be held on April 11-13, 2019 at the Mindanao State University – Iligan Insitute of Technology (MSU-IIT) in Iligan City, Philippines. This scientific activity, organized by the Premier Research Institute of Science and Mathematics of MSU-IIT, aims to provide a platform for academics, scientists and researchers to share and discuss theoretical and experimental solutions to societal problems related to science and mathematics. In addition, this conference will provide opportunities for participants to exchange new ideas and foster collaborations among one another. The scope of the conference is broad and varied including Biodiversity, Biotechnology, Natural Products and Drug Development, Renewable Energy, Nanoscience, Complex Systems, Climate Change, Applied Mathematics and Statistics and Theoretical Sciences.

The conference venue is in Iligan City, known to be the City of Majestic Waterfalls. The most famous among the waterfalls is the Maria Cristina Falls which is the main source of hydroelectric power in the whole Mindanao region. Other famous waterfalls worthy to experience are the Tinago Falls, Mimbalut Falls, Dodiongan Falls, among others.
